Diversifying Investments by Shaun Pruitt

Many of the equities in the article are in "emerging markets" or conduct business in urban/minority communities and are often undervalued but can be great long-term investments and affordable.

Jumia (JMIA) is becoming the most well-known equity on the list as it is the premiere E-commerce company in Africa, a continent that has historically struggled with logistics due to oppression and conflicts. Jumia has the potential to be a great long-term investment when you think about what other E-commerce platforms have done such as Amazon, Alibaba, Shopify etc.

The last stock on the list is Urban One (UNOEK) formerly Radio One and has done very well over the last few months. Radio One's founder Catherine Hughes became the first African American woman to head a publicly traded company when the company went public in 1999.

Most of us listen to radio stations that are owned by the parent company Urban One (Radio One) such as the Rickey Smiley Morning Show, Tom Joyner Morning Show, DL Hughley Show etc.

These can be savvy investments, but you also feel good about the investment, I shared this article with the Director of Zack's Investment Research as well, and he thought it was great, very original in content were his thoughts. Thought I would share for our blog as well.

Kind Regards,
Catherine Hughes
Radio One's Founder
